John is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. He
works as a Principal Financial Business Analyst in the Information Technology
field. He is passionate about recording the events in his life and his life’s
experience. When he is not working he devotes his time to his writing. John
lives with his wife and two adult children in Sydney, Australia.
John was born in Malaysia in 1952 and migrated to Australia
in 1981 with his wife. The opportunity to live in Australia open up a host of
possibilities as there is no longer a protective veil created by the strict and
regimented religious fundamentalist mindset of the past. The original purpose of
John’s study and research was to confirm his Christian fundamentalist faith
and beliefs. John discovered things he could not have believed in the past. The
‘My Journey’ memoir series of five books are the recordings of his
discoveries in the religious, spiritual, secular, cultural and scientific
fields.
John reveled in the new open, transparent and democratic
environment in Australia and challenged all the past knowledge and teachings he
was exposed to. Despite the trauma of change, John realized that unless we have
an open mind, we cannot progress in life. One might be stuck with a mindset of
the fourth century. One needs to test and challenge every statement one
encounters. One does not hold on to past anachronistic teachings. One must move
with the times. Knowledge is ever expanding and advancing. One should hold on to
ideas of the past that are no longer relevant to the modern world.
John’s memoir series describe his life experiences and
most of the knowledge he had acquired so far in all aspects of his life. He does
not hold on to any sacred teachings. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is perfect for
eternity. As he progresses along the journey of life, he kept the tested
traditions and ideas and revised the outdated teachings of the past. He would
like to improve with time and age.
John had invested a lot of time studying
with different religious and spiritual groups. He is still involved with a few
groups with weekly studies and seminars. He found most religious groups do not
entertain independent thinkers. He stopped studying with those religious groups.
The spiritual groups are more tolerant of people with any religious background.
Spiritual groups do now bother about religious beliefs and their backgrounds;
they are more interested in spiritual development. There is only one rule in the
search for spirituality; there are no rules. All decisions are based on the
grounds of compassion, love and care.
If you are on a spiritual journey rather than a religious
journey; or if you are an independent thinker with an open mind; or if you are
interested in the different cultures of the world and in scientific subjects;
you will probably enjoy John’s journeys in his memoir series. They are told in
a light-hearted manner. They are easy to read and understand to an average
reader. All the five books of his memoir series should be available in e-book form and in book form by year end 2006. The planned released dates
are provided in another web link. The first book of the memoir series
‘Confessions of a Christian Fundamentalist’ is available in e-book form from
October 2003 and in print form from November 2003. You may order these
publications from this web site.
